Calling All Quilters

Calling all quilters, and friends of quilters:  we have three, beautifully made quilt tops which need to be made into finished quilts.

Their sizes are:
84" X 58"
93" X 68"
93" X 90"

These are treasures, and they are too large to donate to patients. Finishing the quilts will enable us sell them at an auction, to raise funds for the Guild.

Would you (or anyone you know) like to help?   If you are interested, please leave a comment here, including your contact information, and we will get in touch with you.

Thank you!

  1. Hi Karen, what do you need done? Do they need to be cut smaller, batting and backing added and then quilted? I'm no pro but I could make one. My sewing machine is at my sister's house so I could do it over Thanksgiving.

  2. Or, wait. If these are fancy ones you're going to auction I think a more experienced quilter should finish them. I could make smaller ones with simple (straight) quilt lines!

  3. Dear Karyn,

Thank you for this kind offer! Yes, I suppose they are big enough to cut smaller, and yes, they are fancier. They are made of 2" squares, all stitched together. I should post a photo.
I was thinking of selling them at auction mainly because they are so large, and so unusual. If no one steps forward to make them as they are, I will do what you suggested. Thanks for the good idea! XO

  4. Okay, I wouldn't want to ruin them trying to quilt them! I can sew straight lines. I'm not so good at making them curvy yet!

  5. Me, too! I'm still a beginner at sewing. This looks like a job for the "big girls (or boys)." We just need to find them! Thanks again.
