Fran and the Ginkgo Foundation

I received a comment on my personal blog a few weeks ago from Fran. She said,
"Nine ladies and I formed a small foundation 18 years ago. This month we made fleece blankets to donate to Katie's Comforter Guild. When my daughter was 11 - 12, she spent a year going back and forth to Seattle Children's and when I told her about Katie's Comforter Guild, she thought that was a terrific idea. I also purchased a copy of your book, 'Because of Katie'..."
Fran and the other members of the Ginkgo Foundation are donating 18 fleece blankets to Katie's Comforters Guild. Here they are:
Thank you, Fran, and
thank you, Ginkgo Foundation!

A New Way to Share, Thanks to Kay

My blogging friend, Kay, recently posted about an app which she uses to make scrapbooking easy. If you know me well, you know that I gave up scrapbooking and never looked back. I do enjoy taking and looking at photos, but I got very tired of the "racket" that is the scrapbooking-accessory business, as well as the cost, mess and fuss of gathering, organizing and storing all of the accessories. Kay has found a solution to all of that!
It's an app called Project Life, and it is available for the iPhone and iPad (I think). {By the way, this is not a sponsored post.}
Using the app, I was able to make these pages right on my iPhone! Thay are going to come in handy when I make a presentation to a youth group about our guild, later this month. I printed the pages and will put them on a tri-fold display board. No need for a computer, power cords or slideshow presentation, and the group can borrow the board to share with their community, if they wish.
 Thank you, Kay, for the inspiration!

Thanksgiving

Just before Thanksgiving, I received a package from a generous woman whom I've never met in person.
Aren't these adorable?
Heather N. is a blogger who I met online through another dear blogging friend (Elizabeth). Heather and her family live in California, and she is very familiar with the pediatric cancer journey, because her adorable youngest child, Zoey, is a survivor. Even though she leads an extremely active, demanding and busy life, Heather took the time to send us a box of adorable fleece blankets (photo above), and some soft, bright quilt tops which are ready to finish (see below).
 What a blessing, just in time for the holidays.
 Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity, Heather!
