Michelle F. is a fabulous advocate for our guild. She keeps coming up with good ideas, and seems naturally able to create events that invite and involve people who are new to our guild and its work. She is a gifted quilter, as well!
I received this email from her the other day:
She has had great success sharing her pre-assembled quilt-making kits, as you can see from her message. In fact, I'm going to assemble some myself next week with our cousins, Rebecca and Kathy. They are going to share them with the Stillaguamish Grange for the event in June."Karen,I’m doing a quilting party for the guild tomorrow at a local church – they invited me to come, bring some fabric and supplies, and the ladies of their relief guild will bring their machines and sew blankets! I drafted up this little info sheet on how I make simple blankets with a self-binding back, and I thought I’d share it with you in case you wanted to post it on the blog. Also, I distributed 12 quilt kits last month, and I’ve already got one lady who has finished and asked me for 2 more kits."
Feel free to print out Michelle's cleverly illustrated pattern for making quilts:
How cool is that?
Be sure to check our facebook page for photos of the event that Michelle mentioned - it looks as if it was a blast! BIG thanks to the Shoreline Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for hosting it...and even
BIGGER THANKS to Michelle for being such a wonderful advocate and friend to our guild!
