Does it Make a Difference? Yes!

Do you ever wonder if what we do at Katie's Comforters Guild at Seattle Children's Hospital makes a difference? Here is the answer, in the words of the mother of a patient.

"Dear Katie's Comforters Guild,

My daughter Mya has been ill for over a year. We have always been able to manage at home. We had a major set back, and she had to be admitted. She had had a very long day from 9 A.M. until 3:30 A.M. We finally made it to the room. She was so scared at the big bed - she [had] never slept in one - and having to stay. When she saw the Minnie Mouse blanket she [lit] up and wrapped up in it and said, 'I OK now Mama. Minnie is with me.'

"I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making something very scary [in]to being safe and secure and happy [in] 2 seconds.

"Thank you so much. Bless you.
"Mya and Cindy"

Thank you, Mya and Cindy, for taking time to tell us your story. You encourage us! May you be richly blessed.

  1. Karen- Thank you for sharing the kind words of Cindy and Mya in their note of thanks. I am inspired to get busy making more blankets right away. I hope they know that with each blanket we make, we send prayers and good wishes for their comfort and healing.
